Hi quick question.. Just bought an S60 2.0 t.. Lovely car.. However had the Windows down in my local multi Storey and there is a loud clicking when I lift up the clutch pedal, sometimes when depressing as well? Is this a known issue, or any ideas? Apart from that, it's a lovely motor.. Cheers..

Two CV joints replaced solved the problem. Hope its not a sign of problems, car only has 25,000 wouldbnt have thought CV need releced with such low miles.

99.9% certain they did not need replacing.

they suffered from slight free play between the hub and driveshaft splines that caused a loud ping taking up drive.

earlier repairs involved applying lock tight to the splines, but I believe the latest repair is fitting XC90 drive shaft bolts that have a rubber bushing.

Thanks for that. I did see something similar on a Volvo forum. Locktite suggested. Mentioned this to the garage doing the work (It was for free as I just bought the car) they looked at me like I was mad so as long as it fixed the clunk I just let them replace
