advice on cambelt change for a v70 2.5 petrol please...

hi all,
my brother's asked me to do this job on his volvo as he can't afford a garage to do it atm. has anyone done this job, or could you advise me of the other bits needed to be replaced at the same time?
for example is it worth doing the water pump, tensioners, etc as well?
will i need a specific tool for locking the crank out?
any advice greatfully received, it's his family car and i don't want to nuts it up for him for the sake of saving a couple of quid!

If you've done a cambelt on any other car it will be piss easy - Make sure you get the cam timing right though as they lose all bottom end power if not - I've had to adjust loads where other garages seem to continually get them wrong and the customer brings the car in complaining of it being sluggish.
Really it depends on budget for parts - ALWAYS go for either a genuine volvo or Gates belt - Tensioners are again dependent on budget - they'll probably be ok if you leave them - I've found Volvo tensioner bearings are some of the toughest around but wouldn't hurt to change them. Go for a quality water pump if you're going to do it don't cheap out and go for somehting like Quninton Hazel - you might as well leave the original in place if you can't budget for a quality one.

before your remove the cambelt align the crank and cam pulleys to there marks,when you remove the small cover over the cam pulleys apply tipex or similar to the pulleys and head,if the car has vvt pulleys they have a nasty tendency to spring out of position when removing the belt,so you can reposition and be sure you have correct timing with your own marks.
