The throttle body on my 185bhp 2006 V70 has just been replaced by my independent garage after it failed at 90K miles. Can anyone confirm that this is essentially a 'plug and play' device on the diesel engine and that the ECU does not need reprogramming. This is what my indie told me, apparently confirmed by the main dealer. The car runs fine but I think I can detect a slight hesitancy when coming off idle which I didn't notice before. Thanks Andy.

Hmm. I'm not sure that's correct. I'm pretty sure that the etm does need to be coded if replaced. I'm not sure it would work at all if not. Has the etm just been cleaned instead?

On the 2000 - 2002 cars with the well documented etm faults.
On these if you change the etm without getting it programmed to the car, it will be in limp mode all the time and have an engine check light on.

As yours doesn't have either of these, i would suggest, your newer car doesn't need the unit programming.
