XC90 100k+ - How reliable?
Discussion
We are looking for a 7 seat 4x4 and the XC90 fits the bill perfectly.
With the newer model coming out relatively soon i've been thinking about getting a cheaper used car to start with and look to upgrade later.
As we'll only be doing around 50-60 miles a week I'm thinking that over time the mileage will even out a bit, however as we will be ferrying our kids to school in a local village it needs to be reliable.
I've been looking at a few cars, typically 54 plate is with 100-110k on them for around £7500-8500.
Does anyone know how reliable these are with that sort of mileage, i've had a couple of V70's in the past but not past 60k and never had a problem.
Also - it appears "Willow Green" seems a little cheaper than the blacks/greys/silvers - any reason?

I would consider +100k Volvo XC90 a reliable if it has been maintained per the service schedule. Pay attention to transmission oil changes, in Finland (where i live) they are recommended to change every 40k. Look of suspension clunks and rattles, as they are prone to wear. Usually a silent Volvo is a sign of good maintenance. Full Volvo service- booklet is a plus.
I would go for a 185bhp D5 model with 6- speed auto.

as others have said, make sure the AWD system is as it should be
I was doing some digging as we use an XC90 for towing the horse trailer (also my sister was after one at the time)
