Volvo 850 T5 auto ECU in a manual T5?

I believe the auto ecu's can be used in manual cars, but not vice-versa.
There is no power gain to be had as far as I know.

They do fit and work but like already said, manual ecu's don't work in autos - to explain the myth that increase power - no they don't however they are easier to chip anyone with a laptop, the map software and a the ability to solder in a chip carrier can chip one - manual ecu's are trickier to map - I ran 310bhp map in my old 850 manual running an auto ecu from a scrapped car which my friend chipped for me - the car was genuinely fast as a result with it giving an indicated 160+ mph on a run to Austria on the A81 in germany. clock only goes up to 160 and it ran past that before hitting the limiter - car was reliable and never caused any problems after being chipped - car was boggo other than a head I gas flowed when I rebuilt the top end after buying it with a blown HG

Yep as above says, you can fit an auto ECU in a Man car but not other way round, I bought a Rica 304 bhp ECU out of an auto to put in my manual, I also had my previous T5 Auto chipped by Upsolute around 280 BHP, big, cheap power increase, phenominal for just a remap!
You bought that ECU off me when I was a regular on the VOC forum. Hope you've had fun with it
