Thinking about a Volvo XC60

Hi All,
Though I would ask for some opinions from the PH Knowledge bank.
My friend drives a V50 currently and is due for an upgrade in September.
She is thinking about the XC60 2wd 2.0L Diesel.
Any advice on which spec to go for, what to avoid, any useful extras? (She is very concerned that it must have a sunglasses holder).
Any massive clangers/ faults / recalls etc?
How does it compare with the V50 for speed, equipment, comfort?

On my second V50, only experiences of XC60 have been short time on good roads in NL and a longer test for few days in UK, latter a D3 auto R-line.
It cures some of the things I don't like about the V50 which is lack of space, especially the boot. Of course you get the high up seating position, interior is up to usual standard however a couple of things I didn't like about the one I had.
The auto box was dreadful, it may have been the setup of the one I drove as don't-recall geartronics being that bad in the past.
It has that stupid Volvo electronic parking brake where the lever is just a bit too far down and forward for comfort and the auto release not that auto and not too smooth. It can be setup right but not this one.
The biggest problem for me was the suspension, no idea if it's just the R-design but by Christ was it uncomfortable! Jiggling about all the time, and on not particularly bumpy country main roads had a very strange diagonal swaying almost corkscrewing motion. Very odd, and noticeably worse ride than a V50 on 18" rims which is saying something!
Personally I'd avoid but maybe I had a bad example, test drive one and get it on some roads that aren't billiard table smooth would be my suggestion.
