I have a 1993 940 2 litre turbo with 225k on the clock. We've had the car for 13 years and I've done all the servicing and what little work has needed doing. Friday afternoon my wife arrived home and the car overheated as she pulled in the driveway and the oil light is now permanently on. Car starts and runs OK, oil level is good and it doesn't smoke and I'm thinking this is an oil pump failure.

Has anyone else been here or can shed any light on this before I start taking half the car apart to find out.

Have you thinned the oil out overheating it? I'd always change the oil after overheating a car
