Hi all, just got a Volvo, parents have had a few in the past and im not a car snob so got one. Awesome power for such a cheap and understated car. only had it a couple of weeks and have annoyed some much more expensive machinery. It doesnt feel to big even though it is rather large and im sure with a decent suspension upgrade she will handle great. Hit 150mph already could go a bit more, very surprised. using as every day car too, doing around 31mpg and im not the slowest of drivers.

Plans are to get it setup for track and ready for the annual trip to the Ring in August.

So Far:
.Matte blacked Grille
.Matte blacked mirrors
.Matte blacked side lights
.Removed towbar
.Debadged rear
.Removed side strips
.Side exit exhaust
.Semi stripped
.De wipered front lights

Plans:
.New plates
.New splitter
.Suspension kit
.need brakes
.Dump valve

As I got it

sprayed grille and dewipered lights

debadged and stickered ready to go

stripped (not fineshed yet)

side lights sprayed/side strips removed

Not really into cosmetics but thought i would tidy her up and go for a sleeper look, you know do a bit that few people would actually notice but actually makes it look a whole lot better.just needs to go lower.

Had some interesting comments so far like "HaHa!stripped with a side exit, its a volvo" maybe insulting for some but thats exactly what im after. I replyed "yes mate its probably as quick as what you are driving"

Right update long time coming:

Panel filter arrived after a month! Pipercross were a nightmare too deal with. However the car seems too breath better.

Fully synthetic engine oil and genuine oil filter

Previous to this I had her on the rollers at 222BHP with normal unleaded, at a guess i would say it could have been mapped with high octane in.

Also ordered a few bits:

Black diamond fast road pads (front)
http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pages/products/pr...

Black diamond 12 Groove discs (front)
http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pages/products/pr...

Kalmar union/Forge dumpvalve kit
http://kalmar-union.com/parts/volvo-engine/

Enough 5.1 brake fluid too do the whole system which should give me better braking and it will last at higher temps for longer, plus doubt the fluid currently in it has ever been changed.

Hopefully have it all fitted by next weekend.
Both company are great too deal with. I have used europerformance for all of my cars. And the chap at Kalmar was really nice.

The Ovlov is still running great, she has driven me too Milton keynes from wiltshire for the past two weeks no issues. not just over 93,000miles

On the cards next month:

Tyres - Goodbye ditch finders, hello better handling
FK fixed rate shox & springs - 60mm/40mm hello even better handling

Pics as soon as i have done the work.

Also went too Castle Combe action day weekend before last, great day, plenty of space on track and no nutters.

Nice one.

I have the black diamonds on mine, superb disks.
I went with red stuff pads.
While your sorting the braking system, don't forget a set of braided lines, i have goodridge on, they make a big difference to.

Keep the pictures coming, as you progress. smile

Has it got a front strut brace? My 2.0t V40 was transformed with one of those - really nails the turn in down.
