I had one - 115bhp injected engine -as quick as a mk2 golf gti - I could power slide it all the way round the thickthorn interchange just outside Norwich in the wet (in the days before they installed traffic lights!)
Generally good cars - engines are largely bulletproof - 3 doors are less rust prone than 5 doors - rust can be a nightmare to sort on them as the have complex triple skinned wings on the front - quite heavy as a result. Transmission is mounted in the back axle and operate using a massive torque tube down the middle of the car - makes gear changes a bit heavy and can crunch if the torque tube is still spinning when going for reverse.
Would I have another? Yes I'd love one as a usable classic but think I'd favour a 240 GLT if were in the Market for one
