hi any clues.

i have a ford xflow with a aldon igniter fitted . just rewired car . but when i turn on ignition not starting then turn back off theres a disscharge in dizzy cap. dont remember this before i rewired . normal or not.?

Some ford ignition systems use a resistive type cable on the low side of the coil - could this be the issue ?

should there be a earth on or in the dizzy
i have disconected every thing but the wire to the dizzy and still have discharge when turning off .

The dizzy body should provide the earth, have a check of the main engine to chasis earth connection.

Does the dizzy have an ignition amp or standard points & condenser set up ?

hi
done all earth straps even one to dizzy body clamp engine to chassis is new .
its got an aldon igniter fitted and have swapped it over for a spare one still this spark when i switch off .
aldon say its not right.
