Hello folks.
I am in the process of pulling out some carpets in the chimaera.
As part of this I want to soundproof the cabin a little.
Does anybody have any good recommendations for sounproofing materials and/or sourcing the same?
Many thanks,
Rich

Hi Rick,
I've done some extensive research into this, dynamat is not the best performing and is the most expensive and also very heavy. I'm looking at putting everything I have together and maybe doing a group buy? I've been speaking to this guy
http://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com/
although I'm going to use a multitude of products for heat and sound deadening for the interior on my cerbera. He certainly knows his stuff! its slightly different application for GRP cars, however his products seem ok, but bear in mind it does add weight.
This was his old site when he compared all the soundproofing products before doing his own products, its a little broken as I'm using the way-back machine view an old archived website. A worthy read:

Just use the links after the advert, and check out the ones that fail under heat. i'm going to go for B-Quiet guys in Canada, its light and has the best all round performance.
for the engine bay I would recommend the Damplifier or Damplifier pro due to its heat properties... check out the Buzz videos at http://www.secondskinaudio.com/ for a laugh, but there's lots to take on board! i think his vein almost pops out of his head! :-)
Anyway hope this helps and let me know if you're interested in the goup buy as i'll try and put the best package together. Plus the fact the they don't ship here, but my sister lives in NY so i could have it shipped there, and if there's enough have it freighted over?
thoughts?

I had good results with this stuff http://www.carcarpets.co.uk/epages/Store_Shop835.s... i used it on the floors and rear deck
Had my Disco done by thes guys;
http://www.noisekiller.co.uk/
I bought enough to do my chim as well.
The results;
A slight improvement on the chim, more noticable on the Disco, probably due to poor window-door seals on the chim .
I believe making thes cars quieter ma be harder then you think!
