The throttle cable exits the ACT Tipple plenum downwards and then has to turn 90 degrees fairly abruptly which makes for a nasty feel on the throttle. Have any of you come up with a way of resolving this ? I was wondering about the sort of bent tube arrangement that is used on motorcycle cables but they seem to come attached to the cable rather than as a separate part. The other challenge is getting the air feeder pipe onto the end on the air box. Would be interesting to see how other people have done that.

Hmm, it is quite tight isn't it; havn't had any issues with feel though. Is the inner cable in good condition? May be worthwhile replacing that. I get mine on-line from 'Discount Bicycles'. It's the larger diameter of the two inner brake cables they offer and about £1.50 delivered.

I'd post a pic of how my routing looks but my A.O.L is down the loo at the moment. . . . again!

Did you reuse the original cable or use one that was supplied with the kit? I fitted the new one as it seemed better to have a screw on nipple at the pedal end than the throttle. If you have one of these working I have a couple of other questions. How the hell do you fit the two lower bolts that hold the air box on ? Only way I can see is if you fit it before putting the plenum on the car. Other thing is do your throttle butterfly whistle at tickover ?

Go to your local mountain bike shop, and ask for a v brake cable tube, curved affair that may help you out, will need to locate it on your throttle arrangment, and add a crimp or cable nipple after the cable has been threaded through, but easily sorted, and will give a nice smooth cable run......

Sorry for the late reply Steve.

There was an inner cable supplied but a couple of the strands broke as they went around the quadrant. I used the supplier mentioned earlier for something of better quality and flexibility; and I always keep a spare in the boot. The ball type nipple I desoldered from the original cable and transferred to the new.

I remember that it's all a bit of a faff to get together but don't specifically remember much in the way of particulars.

Can't say that I've noticed any whistling but I'll double check next time I crank up.

I'll get a pic posted up for you when/if I get my chuffin' A.O.L sorted; relying on Explorer here mad .
