Anyone know the ins and out of converting a tuscan s6 or cerb to 4 wheel drive?
Also Im lead to believe the tuscan handles better than the cerb(even with both having nitrons on), is this true?
Thanks in advance for your replies

Hi I looked at this in a chim, the only information i found was to possibly use a sierra cossy or xr4x4 box with a custom bell housing. Theres a griff thats been converted do a search it brings up a little bit on it but not the whole setup.

We built an engine for a griff that had been turned into 4x4, i cant remember the guys name it was a fair few years ago, he also had a big turbo fitted as well!, trust me when i say this car was a peaice of s*** to drive it was!!, he was running 4x4 cossie stuff and the problem i saw was that the front drive shafts where split 80-20 percent so the torque steer was just incredible, honestly you had to point the car to the middle of the road on lift off to stop it dragging you in the ditch not a nice drive!

I think Geary from eliseparts.com had a 4 by 4 Griff. A guy down or estate who builds bespoke off road racing buggies says it wouldn't be too hard to convert to $wd .. he builds custom transfer boxes depending on application so knows his stuff!

i think Zcars where building a Skyline engined and 'boxed car. not really heard much about it in a while. would be a nice idea, but is it REALLY needed?? have you tried some really sticky semi slicks??

The cerb handles better than the tuscan judging from posts from those that know.

Abbey Motorsports are building a 4WD Cerbera with an RB26DETT under the hood.

Seem a bonkers amount of effort - WHY is surely the question when most REALLY Powerful cars are RWD (modern TC and bog tyre should be able to cope).

4x4 in my book is just an way round having the talent to drive a car at or near the limit so easily!

It was Geary's car Rob. I did the head stuff later on (buick 300's) and helped with the tubby smile. IIRC it used sierra running gear and an MT75 gearbox with an output shaft on the drivers side which went to the front diff. Rear diff had the normal prop arrangement from the back of the box. The car was a boneshaker when I went in it, due to harsh springs and rosejoints. Wonder if he ever finished it off?

Didnt Geary sell it in the end, I remember seeing it in His drive in Cardington looking a bit worse for wear. He was on about doing another one but i think the eliseparts.com took off and so did he smile

Real nice bloke and interesting mod that he had done, including the turbo. He used to have some pictures and info about it on his website, not sure if he still has but I am sure if you contacted him via the site he would share info.
