Heres a tko600 into a Cerbera chassis, toughest bit was exhaust routing. T56 would be tight, i had to make a decision on what box when i built mine, a TKO 600 is made to do the job of handling 600lbs, i could have gone uprated T45 but i was sceptical, wrongly or rightly who knows.

Hello Panic.
As Brummiwedge has said. It would be best to use the TKO 600 gearbox. A bellhousing can be bought here in the UK.www.roadcraft.co.uk and an internal hydraulic throw bearing for the clutch can be had from McLeod Industries. Inc. Part # MCL-1364 with an MCL-139038-1 2nd generation bearing. These can be purchased from www.SummitRacing.com

The T5 will not sustain much use, if any, at around 440FtLbs of torque, which you spec of 383ci should produce.

speed, i want to keep my T5 which i will much probably uprate with a stronger case and internals, actually, i want to keep this engine swap into the griffith as affordable as posible and not only for the money spenditure but mainly for the planning efforts, i do not have the skills to get involved in a total redesign of engine and trans with all the consequences that every mod carries as a further complication.

all i need to know is what's the best way to match an old gen small block chevy powerplant to my existing T5...thanks/Giuseppe

I did mean T5 not T45 my mistake! But its not the most cost effective way, in fact with uprated cases AND gears it will be more money. I only made brackets off the original mounting points, and even used the same mounts. But you have decided what to do already by the sounds of it. we will see whether my scepticism was missplaced or not

i think its g force in usa that make a 500 to 600 bhp gearset for the t5 ,at around 1300 dollars ,so for 600 to 700 quid you get a high bhp gearbox that only weighs 75 lbs ..
