Hi all.
I'll be fabricating new rear uprights for my M.
The motivator for this chassis is hoped to provide around 450 HP and I'm not gentle.
Ferron in California said the TR6 stub axles will snap.
John Wadman in Canada said the uprights will fracture around the top pivot.
I'm using a gorgeous LSD diff from a ±'90 Supra Turbo and am planning to use all the connected hardware out to the hubs but having new axles made to adjust for the narrower track.
Does anybody have any decent photos of the newer/current style fabricated steel uprights for me to model mine on?
Does anybody have any other suggestions?
Thanks.

Try contacting John Reid at Readman Racing - do a google search for Readman Racing

He is ex racing department at TVR. He recently had rear uprights remanufactured for the Tuscan Challenge racers, but he looks after some of the older racers too. Might have something suitable for an M

I agree with Andy.
Just contact Reidy, Buy some new steel Tuscan rear uprights, re-fab your wishbones to suit and save yourself all the hassle

Neil.

Your other Method is to contact Adrian Venn and see if he has any of his modified M Type upright assemblies to sell you

If you want 450hp though I would think that you will Lobro type (CV Joint) driveshafts as opposed to U/J's and the old sliding splines which are known to lock up with articulation

Neil,
Thanks for the leads.
I will definitely be using CV axles, probably in modified existing uprights.
