Hi, I have heard the Griffith's rear number plate light is lit up from behind the plate itself.

Is this true? As I would like to purschase the lamp etc to use on another car as part of my project. Does anyone know where I can get hold of one?

Regards,

Daryl Benfield.

The lamps are just standard number plate lights , simply set beind rather than in front of the plate.
If you go to a number plate maunfacturer you can buy translucent plates for TVRs. eg www.fancyplates.co.uk - these allow the light to pass thtrough the yellow section whilst the black numbers/letters dont allow light through.

About as major a mod as you can have in my opinion - after all he's taking a Griffith and modifying all but the number plate light.

Compared to such a major modification fitting an LS engine into a Chimaera is very small potatoes!

Rob

PS And he obviously has taste as he has decided to modify a Griffith rather than a Chimaera!

LOL! It's not even going on a TVR, a VW actually. My dad built alot of Tuscan racers and tuned/serviced TVR's so got the idea for the light from seeing the Griffiths.

Link does not work. Like the Old Beetles (my first car - good for learning to drive sideways). New ones fine - just packageing seem odd - largest (deepest) dash on any car, wife wanted one but steered her to a Puma.

I think that should be your job!

Very bling - kind of nice - give me a lowered split window camper every time - with a flat six in it! Corvair or Porker (as long as Jamie Oliver is no way in sight!

Cool job - I had a Beetle with 1600 in it and disc on front hacked off a 1500, 4 into 1 tiny steering wheel, big tyres. Same colour as Herbie - should have put the number and stipes on it.
