More LS more this time for the unhinged only!

Just come back from trip to US of A. Got my fave mag at the airport. HOTROD.
Latest is that GM have just released the LSX (this is not a std LS like alot of uslump all types of LS's together under the LSX monica). THIS IS THE LSX BOLT. Designed in house by GM Performace Parts with input from Pro Stock Guru Warren Johnson (will be out end of March). It is and iron block and weigh's a think 100lbs more than the normal alloy LS7 block (yes we best not go there on my view on Iron SBC's)!
Here the KICKER - it is designed for sizes of between 364 and 500 cu (just over 8.0lts) and is rated at bearing ableto handle 2500hp!! I.E. Blow through it! (will take upto 40psi!)
They are going to making a crank lump based on this block at 454cu in (packing 600bhp)with heads they will be bringing out shortly after the block (these have more head studs per bore to handle the expected bigger bang!), but they will take any extisting LS head bolting upo to the std stud holes (just not using the extra ones).
Not really for TVR (cars that wanna go raod corners).
Right up Ash's Street!!!

heard alot about this block on LS1tech. i would hold back on the 2500bhp claim until someone does it. not saying it cant be done, but like the warhawk block, these guy seem to be making BIG claims!
still a great block if you are having problems with passing water on the stock iron blocks.
will be very interesting to see what people can get out of these things. also might see some more 1000bhp road cars!
thansk Chris.

854 Posts! I presume you do have an LS by now
That Beyond LS2 will go some, 14.1 CR Christ! AND 16 on a C5R (I would like one of those!)
900bhp is nice but using NOS is Cobblers, though they love that short straightline toss over they - Great engine without all that rubbish. 650 should be easy looking at the spec in N/A.
Mine is fine with 400 for now!
