Yes here it is folks. The next installment in the LS / TVR LOONACY!

www.photobox.co.uk/album/album_fullsize.html?c_photo=1042956302

Plastiman has got hold of a modified C5R (how does he do this!)coolCorvette Lump (these are like an LS7 - but bottom end is Super strong and made my GM race Dept only. It has had some mods as it is from the LM Spec Listers! So now in only 6litre form! When in Listers breathing through Two 31mm restrictors it likely made ONLY 570bhp!lick

To get the engine down to 6L they shortened the strike to 3.41" . They then experimented with a larger bore and were presumably going to shorten the stroke further. At the time liners were not available to accomadate the 4.175" pistons and the liners warped due to being to thin.

www.photobox.co.uk/album/album_fullsize.html?c_photo=1042956300

The huge single butterfly per cylinder inlets are Kinsler (60mm) - Think a slight Bonnet bulge might be needed! Plate on the front supports the dry sump pump and this seems to have a different timing chain cover arrangement possibly for quick timing/cam changes. Dave may revert back to standard as the pump has to be mounted nearer the block to clear the chassis (pump on back of chassis in picture).

He is building it for the road yikes , probably my for his T350 (but maybe Tuscan - as chassis is the same?).

Dave is currently missing 1 head he is now ordering from the states. But he has two sets of pistons at 4.175 and 1 set of standard C5R pistons so he might build some big capacity short blocks!!

(I think I need a BLOWER)biglaugh

Hold on Jon - that's can't be right - that looks like a LS lump fitting quite nicely in a T350 chassis - which we believe is very similar to a Tuscan chassis, right? I'm SURE someone reckons that can't be done?!

Easy to do when there is no body on or the rest of the gubbins in place and there is no need for access to anything. It's sorting all that out is when the real fun starts...

Harder not difficult.

Anyway this is anout Plasti's creation - must admit it will tke a while to make it into a working car though - Good luck is all I can say.

Off to lay some more rubber. Jelly.

Some days later with an empty engine bay and the Ls1 swinging above it I began to lower it down into the bay. There it sat while I was waiting for 4 types of, off the shelf "Super Hugger Headers" to turn up from America. These are exhaust manifolds which are bent VERY tightly for minimum space usage.
Blast IT WILL NOT FIT.... I can not get it into the engine bay WITH the manifolds on. Or into the bay without the manifolds on and then fit them.
... I could cut the space frame....are you barking ####ing MAD !!!...
I have limitations. By working WITHIN my own PARAMETERS...I will NOT CUT THE SPACE FRAME UP...I, am UNABLE to fit the LS engine into the car.
Now, and this is NOT sarcasm. If there is someone out there who can achieve this with OFF the shelf, or even custom built manifolds for the SAME price as off the shelf manifold £180.00 THE PAIR including import tax shipping and VAT. Which are GUARANTEED to flow AT LEAST 425 maybe 450 HP. Then I will be the very first to salute them. As I KNOW how BLOODY difficult that would be. In my opinion IMPOSSIBLE.

So show me I am wrong and you will have my admiration untill my dying day.

Plasti - looking at it some more I can see what you are on about with the adaptor plate. but doe look like it is in (well resting on something to get the general idea) in a bit to low for the headers relative to the top rails and not central). Think if central it and up and inch it will go back a few more inches, help with getting onto the steering box, etc. Body can be easily trimmed to get it right back - not as if it has to look std under there!

Cheers

In the pictures the sump is sitting level with the bottom of the chassis so it will probably need to go up slightly . There is a fare amount of space for the exhaust and I was planning to have the gearbox in the standard position and sweep the manifolds forward. Only the steering column would seem to be a problem and it might have to be re-routed like a mk1 tuscan .
Simon feel free to pop round almost any time just let me know to make sure I am in , David

What you going to do to the chassis whilst the body is off? Dip it? Paint it? Treat it?...

That was not my chassis , just a job I had in that week . Luckily I have a brand new T350 racing chassis made out of CDS from the factory which will probably undergo my usual mods.
On the subject of monstrous power Paul Serle`s twin turbo griff made 628 lb of torque before the rear wheels started spinning on Dave Walkers dyno last week .I have driven the car and it is a fantastic engine and behaves perfectley in traffic !

T350C + LS V8 might just be my perfect car!

Would be interested to hear what became of this too!

Okay so here it is... My T350T and LS power, far from finished and without exhaust manifolds (which will be specials) but it will go in.

Will the bonnet fit or will you have to make a bespoke piece?

The bonnet fits with no problem. We checked it on Sunday.

This is the t350 LS conversion I have been working on with my "apprentice" CaseyJ. It is based on the Cerbera LS conversions I am doing and reuses a lot of the parts. When this is complete, I'll be offering these conversions for the T cars.

Still work in progress but most of the mechanical stuff is done.
