I think the Corbeau sprint is narrower at the base than the Cobra and that would be an advantage. Both are roughly the same width at shoulder height and it is sometimes necessary to take a small nick out of the door to accomodate the widest part. The narrow width at the base will enable you to get the seat closer in to the transmission tunnel and avoid this problem. You have my details if you want to pursue the Corbeau option.

Kind regards

You can get Corbeau's usually in two or three arse widths.

Have a narrow in my racer and wide boy in fathers and spare for new Griff (narrow arse)!

I'm 6'3", 18 stone and looking for a race seat for my Chim at the moment. A few things I've discovered;

- In theory (according to Corbeau) you can try Corbeau seats at Halfords "Superstores". In practice, you can't because they don't have any. (I called half a dozen. They all think another one might have some.)

- You can order Corbeau seats through Halfords and send them back if they don't fit, although Halfords will tell you that you can't.

Neither company have come out of this very well although I'm not suprised at Halfords. My heart sank when Corbeau mentioned them.

Demon Tweeks will send a seat out for you to try and take it back providing it's undamaged, although you have to pay for the return courier (cheaper than driving to Wrexham).

Grand Prix Racewear at Silverstone have some seats in stock, but none of them were big enough for me.

The OMP "Extra" looks like it will fit my enormous arse, but it has "wings" and is wider at the shoulder than at the base, and may well not fit in the car due to the way the car narrows at the top (called "tumblehome", BTW).

So far, not very successful. Sigh.
