Got some new 32 valve Cobra V8 engine/box combos in Piston Heads classified which may suit a TVR transplant. Handy money too.....

They are huge - another thread on here shows respective size - hugely wide (would not fit) and bloody heavy. And not a Chevy. Think Dreadnought are doing an Iron block Motorsport Ford Pushrodder in a Cerb - can't for the life of me see why!?

Hello Jon.
Interested in this comment. I am getting closer with the 400 griff replica and now have just purchased a Vix S2. Plan is to use a replica tuscan challenge chassis and Vixen S2 body to build a good hybrid road car with modern mechanicals. I was looking at the 4.6 32v package for the powerplant since lets face it the money is very tempting for a brand new set up which has everything I will need. The question is How much wider is the SVO V8 compared to the old 289 / 302 lump which I know is the narrowest V8 around.

Not too worried about other dimensions since the vixen underbonnet space is pretty flexible.

Neil.

See ad in PH classifieds.

Probably about 34 inches, maybe more? The alternators inside the 'V'.

Hmm - think we can assume it won't fit then!

Er Ya! But if high enough to get this lump in yopu would need a bulge the size of the engine! And it would go straight on at every corner!!!
