LS6 Chimaera 500
Discussion
The car is probably familiar to folks that have been on Pistonheads for some time, but though still may be of interest to some of you, a very detailed write up on the build.

What happened to the Titan?

sorry but that Titan looks amazing mechanically and I'm sure a great build, but I just think it looks ugly
When I saw it at the Classic Car Show I was impressed. Looked good IMO. What really did it for me was the 400+ bhp or the 500+ LS7. The thought of that power in a car that weight. Then when I went out in the TopCat Racing t350 I was truely sold........on the engine not the TitanSILICONEKID346HP said:
That is an old build ,things have moved on since then .It only made 390 hp
It made the 405 it said on the boot lid (2004 - Z06) when I remapped it for 99 octane and it had more miles on it when it had more miles on it. Top end was bloody nuts, you really did not need much over 5500 for it to just waste anything. Edited by SILICONEKID346HP on Monday 7th April 21:54
It ain't all about power.
I was looking at the extreme Norris Design 1000+bhp Evo Time attack thing today (pointless), 3 sec's slower round knockhill than a BTCC car with a 330bhp and 2 less driven wheels........!
My current one has a good bit more power / torque (or a nice fat carb), weighs less with 5.5" less wheelbase. Things move....!

Theres something fundamentally wrong with the setup of it then, or the driver isn't on par with the BTCC driver. DTM cars have a fair bit more power than BTCC and they lap Brandshatch massively quicker than BTCC and only marginally slower than an F1 car.m4tti said:

(maybe about 170bhp) but the guy knows what is doing
I guess that guy knows that car inside out as he seems to drive it well . So relaxed he had time to make tea down the straight looking at his watch ect. As you say power is not the only answer to fun. My latest project has aprox 340hp six speed and rev to 8000 thou so will be enough for a rank amateur to drive. Thanks for the vid. Richard

He did look fairly useless through the middle of the corner, no real commitment (his site is all about how much power they can get for the motor....).
