Hi, all looking to put an engine together for my chim to replace the mia 4 ltr.

I've picked up a block and crank that looks serviceable,

but need to source some pistons. real steel seem to have a good deal on +20 4.6 pistons but thats still only going to give me 9.35:1

and I'd like abit more compression.

irrc you can use the 3.9 4ltr pistons that have a smaller crown volume, is that a reasonable idea and anyone have any idea what it ups the compression to.

the other option I suppose would be to use the old 3.9 tin gasket, which should be ok as im having the block and heads surfaced

I've yet to work out if I can use the gems front cover and get the alternator and pas pump to line up.

I'll either go gems/mark adams if i can get a flywheel sorted or an emerald k6, which will need the front pully modding to take a triger wheel

Might be worth having a word with Dave Davis (RND) and the guys from Devon racing. They have some new US sourced pistons that might do the job.
