Has anyone fitted 8x17 9x17 wheels to a griff? I know i will have to cut the inner wheelarches. Looking to fit 235/40R17 255/40R17. or larger

I'm fairly sure Pasco ran those rubber sizes with 'squarish' bridgestones & no std wheelarch problems?

Any car is going to suffer wheelarch rubbing if they are set too low to the ground though (but that really defeats the double wishbone geometry anyway...)

I'm running 9x17 on the Chim with no issues at the rear. Don't have any inner wheel arch at the front to get in the way so can't really comment. Thats with slicks btw.

I have 10x17" on rear and 8x17" on the front of my chim.

You do have to trim the rear arches.

What rim offsets are you running with either 9 or 10x17 rims fitted to rear?
I'm using 9x17 32mm offset with 255 888's and have issues with clearance to wheel arch, even after grinding inner surface back. My problem is with wheelarch offset being different either side. On one side the external wheel/tyre surface is same width as wheel arch, on the other side the wheel protrudes by 15mm. Body is central on chassis referencing vertical body tunnel surface to chassis tubes, so difference must be in the body mould implying other cars may be similar.
I will probrably need to change offset to at least 35mm as standard setup to gain clearance.

Not sure of offset sitting at my desk!

I know I cut a slice from the inner arches about 3/4" thick at the top, like a thin slice of melon.

I have heard that the bodies aren't true and you should never take measurments from it!

I to am running 255/40/17" Triple 8's on the rear.
