Because others, as evidenced by that thread, are not.
Now, ideal world, if all were to be focussed on their driving, we would not see the RTCs, or single vehicle "accidents" we do.
Why would you want to text, phone, eat, drink, whilst driving?
When the forward situation could change in a split second. Which you miss because of your "multi tasking ability", whether physical or mental.
