Considering doing some driver training anyone got any tips?

It sounds like you're talking about some form of Roadcraft training, rather than handling and skid training. Generally there are two ways into that:- joining a club such as IAM, RoSPA where you will be mentored by another member (cheap, variable quality, occasional) or going to get one-on-one tuition with an experienced Roadcraft instructor (more expensive, more intensive).
It might be a good idea to go and see if you like what you see at one of the open sessions -- the HPC one for Young Drivers is very soon if you're young:-
