Can anybody tell me you has right of way here ? Is a major road with a refuge in the middle so you can wait when turning across it.

I've always assumed the red car would have to wait for the blue car.
However I observed a similar layout today and there was no logic to who went first other than who took the initiative. So I'm now totally confused

Thanks

I'd disagree -- red has been given a separate giveway line so is leaving his road before entering the zone of conflict. When you cross the giveway line, you must do so in a manner so that you don't cause someone to change course or speed to avoid an accident.

If blue has already crossed his giveway line when red arrives at his, then red should yield. And viceversa, although in practice if red has cleared his line by the time blue arrives at his there is likely to be no conflict.

PS - Assuming OP means priority rather than right of way.

I would say that as both blue and red have a give way line, it is the one who gets going first who takes priority. Its a bit like an unmarked crossroads, no priority as such if you all arrive at the same time, then make eye contact and/or a commitment if no one will commit.

I think it would be courteous for red to give a little bit more way, given that blue is exposed to danger a bit more if red doesn't.
