Roundabout - which Lane
Discussion
hi,
Can you tell me if it is legal to be in the right lane to go straight on into lane two.

In my opinion, there's nothing wrong with that.
If you think about it, you're not going 'straight on' as such but you're taking the 3rd exit which would tell me to use the right hand lane of a two lane entry.
On exit it will depend on whether lane 1 is occupied as to whether you use it or not, but as far as I can see there's no issues with using lane 2 to exit.
Why do you ask?

Looks all right to me - two lanes on, two lanes off would imply using it for ahead would be fine. It would also dpeend no road markings - e.g. hat lane having turn right arrows and the left lane having left & streight arrows.
It appears to have a right turn arrow on approach, but it's not mandatory.Balmoral Green said:
Using L2 would be preferable to using L1 to turn right from there. The exit whilst not at 3 O'Clock, is still a clear right turn, it is the third exit and is well past 12 O'Clock. You do not turn right at a roundabout from L1.
Tell that to the fools that use the clearly marked left turn only lane on the Sun-in-sands roundabout to turn right fromt he 102M slip to head into Blackheath every feckind day...Twunt in a blue focus did this yesterday but not only did he do this but he also headed directly into 'my' lane rather than the usual hjanging out round the outside. HE was both suprised and annoyed yto find a Jeep almost parked in his side door. So tempted to not break and argue the toss through insurance.
