Sorry if this is in the wrong place but I'm in a bit of a pickle at the moment. Unfortunately my TVR T350c has developed a PAS fault meaning I cannot attend a driver training day I have booked with CarLimits this Thursday 8th October. I need to find someone to take the place as it is too late notice to cancel frown The place has been made available on their site, if it isn't taken I may have to attend in my daily driver instead which isn't a nice thought (SEAT Ibiza) or just loose the money frown

The day is a 4 person day (you share Andy Walsh's tuition between 4 of you) at a cost of £199 and is done in your own car. It is a full day and is based at North Weald airfield which is near Harlow in Essex.

The day is fantastic and I've already attended many of the days to try and improve my car control over the past few years. The last of which was in May this year. I couldn't recommend them enough!

I'm sure there are many comments about Andy's tuition / CarLimits on PistonHeads and other forums. He is currently tutoring F1 TV presenter Jake Humphery as mentioned on Jake's F1 blog on BBC here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/jakehumphrey/2009/09/i_...

If anyone is up for taking the place please book through Car Limits web site / phone, all details can be seen here http://www.carlimits.com.

Just in case anyone thinks I'm just trying to advertise on here I have absolutely nothing to do with CarLimits and I'm just trying to fill a place I already have paid for but can't attend frown

Many thanks!

Nick

I'd have thought you would have found it interesting to do a day in your FWD car, if you have done it before in the TVR? If not, why not hire Andy's Elise - probably no more expensive than the cost of your own consumables?

But I endorse the recommendation (and I'm not connected to Andy either).

If you want to shift it, wouldn't some kind of discount on the face value be a necessary incentive? Otherwise the prospective purchaser might as well buy it direct from the site.

That said, I second Mark's suggestion. The training is about the driver, not the car. I'm sure Andy can teach you something worthwhile in a FWD car, just as he can in the TVR. Hope it's better soon, anyway.

I'm still trying to continue to get used to feeling the limits of my TVR to aid on track days etc. and to help set the car up and work out areas where I can improve the car (Andy is very good at feeling where the car could be improved). I'm also considering entering the TVR Speed Championship next year in my TVR so I'm really keen to build confidence in my own car.

I do agree that using Andy's Elise will be just as valuable for improving general driving skills (it will cost a fair bit more though) and I'm certain he will teach me a lot in my FWD Ibiza if I decided to go in that (it is a bit of an old banger, although is a 1.8 16v GTI with Blistine adjustable suspension). I've been on a day in my old FWD SEAT Leon Cupra R and learnt a lot in that.

The trouble is I was doing this day with a friend and as I'm having to pull out we ideally want to re-arrange together for another date and therefore needed to shift 2 places. CarLimits found someone to take one of the places leaving just the one place to fill (hence trying to sell it on rather than working out a different arrangement with different cars).

I know that places on Andy's days go pretty quickly and you have to book quite some time in advance most of the time (maybe not so much this time of year) which is why I thought I would let people know on here that a place was going this week. I might consider letting someone take the place at a lower price than advertised if someone wants to make an offer. The place I have available is currently advertised as the only free space on this date on carlimits.com. The day will need to be booked as normal through Car Limits so it would be awkward to arrange a discounted price. I'm hoping that someone who is on holiday at the moment and was after a place before going will be taking the place from me tomorrow but I thought I would try on PistonHeads just in case.

Ok, I'll let this go cheaper if someone wants to take the place? Just make me an offer!
