Free Advanced Driving 'Taster Day' - Andover 10/10/09

The good people from the Advanced-Driving.co.uk forum are holding a 'taster day' in Andover, Hants on the 10th of October.

Members of the forum with RoSPA, IAM or HPC experience will be available to informally assess your driving, and give a drive themselves. It's free, the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, and it's based at a restaurant that's open all day.

Are there any requirements of the cars, other than that they're road legal and safe?

Nah - all the driving is done on-road so as long as the car is road legal, all should be fine.

4 seats might be helpful, but if you've only got 2 that'll be OK - the organiser will need to know beforehand to allocate who drives with who.

I've always been intrigued by the 'advanced driving' groups and I'd love to see what it is all about and how it can improve my driving.

I've wanted to contact my local groups before however, I always get the impression that some members have an 'I am holier than yow' attitude and so this has always put me off.

A day like this is exactly what I have been looking for and it will hopefully show that this attitude is non-existent. I can't confirm that I can make the dates but I'll certainly pencil it in. I'm signing up to the forum right now.

i would love to be there in my tvr tuscan however, having broken my ankle (eduardo style)ouch!!! im in plaster and have been for 6 weeks so far, another 6 weeks to go shame!!!!

You will need to book so that Chris can arrange the driving matrix and pair you up with people for drives. Also so that you know where to go...

Thanks to everyone who came and made this day a success (all 22 of you ) and always good to see some new faces amongst the regulars Hope everyone had a great day and a few myths about advanced driving were dispelled.
