what a tedious bunch of emotional blackmail that was. Nice drift from the guy at the end though, that was cool.

I agree with you. It merely illustrates the need for all road users to take care in what they are doing. In suitable circumstances a competent driver should be able to use a mobile phone without causing a problem for anybody.

Having said that, I don't think they should be used where the conversation is lengthy or of a complex nature, or when disputes are involved. Brief and simple communications should be OK.

Best wishes all,
Dave.

I think that video is pretty poor by all accounts, over emotional music - too much for my ears.

Followed a couple of the related video's and found this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkyRvW1cBB4&fea... Which i think has a better, harder hitting message. As does a video posted by a member on here onto youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pR1NJtX9r-c&fea...

What really happens when it all goes wrong.

Do you have kids? I doubt it.

You'll find your perspective of these things changes quite dramatically when (if) you do.

Yep...thought that posting it on 'advanced driving' would find someone with a brain, but evidently mostly wannabes.

I'll keep watching out for such morons and help to stop them wiping themselves or a complete family out, using the 'defensive driving' technique...as usual.irked

Have you ever met a driver who does not consider themselves competent?

.........but officer, I'm a competent driver & it was only a brief & simple call. Honest

It's a driving forum you're posting this on. If you just want some politically correct people to jump on your bandwagon and agree with you then you would be best off looking elswhere.

0.06: kid hit by driver not looking at the road.
0.16: rear end shunt that caused the hit car to run over a crossing pedestrian.
0.58: blind corner too fast.
1.31: kid flying through the air because he walked out into the road whilst using a mobile phone.
1.59: car flips for no reason (presumably a stunt car). edit: oh apparently he made it roll in an instant second by swerving for a dog.
2:50: Car ends up in a tree for reason unknown.
3:20 - end: small penis references through silly driving.

Only one accident involved a mobile phone and it was the pedestrian victim using it. That's a reasonable clip I guess because many of us underestimate the danger of being distracted whilst walking on/near the road whilst on the phone.

How is this video relevant to mobile phone offenders again?

0.06 - wtf were they doing in the middle of a road so close to a corner. not condoning not looking where you going but stil...
0.16 - that would most definately have NOT done that much if any damage to the person who got hit.
0.58 - retard stopped on the road's fault, especially after a blind bend, to be fair was going a tad excessively fast.
1.31 - didnt look both ways, deserved to be run over.
1.59 - just run pver the dog ffs, car would not flip from that turn and the gf should have pushed bf out of way.
2.50 - no seatbelt, deserves to die for being a tit.
3.20 - driving fast isnt about looking bit or clever, it makes you feel good, couldnt care what oldgrannys think of me, they cause more accidents than drivers who can actually drive.

end
