does anyone have a category C license..ie 7.5 tonnes truck.
Discussion
The licence category is C1, vehicles between 3500kg & 7500kg. Why not just go for cat C, I wouldn't have thought it would be that much more expensive?
Another point, whichever you go for; in addition to the points Von has already mentioned is that from Sep 09 there will be additional modules to complete if you intend to drive professionally. Driver CPC case study test & additional practical tests covering things such as safe loading, vehicle security etc. You can find out more here.

Taking a category C test; rather than a limited use C1 test, would make better sense. The cost wont be a great deal more and an HGV class one licence (category C) will be of more use.
Just to save any confusion, Cat C (rigid) is generally referred to as Class two. Cat C+E (arctics etc) is Class oneAllanv said:
Correct me if I am wrong but didn't the government change it again a while back so that if you passed your test after a certain date then you would have to do 7.5 then cat c in order?
No, not necessaryhttp://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/DriverLicensi...
