Hi,
I was wondering if anybody could recommend a good rally driving day somewhere in England or Wales. My old man used to do lots of rallying when he was younger and i was thinking of getting him a day driving an old MK2 Escort (like he used to have) and a Subaru (which he currently has). Does anybody know of somewhere that offers this?
Think it would make a good Christmas present...
Thanks in advance.....

I used the London Rally School (based between Oxford and Silverstone) a couple of years ago and had a good day: http://www.rally-school.com/
Bill Gwyn do Mk 2 Escorts and Subarus. http://www.billgwynne.com/
It's teaching rather than "an experience", so the course is pretty basic (mostly just a big area with cones and tyres), but you will actually learn what you're doing and why.
Highly recommended.

I had the Extreme Rally bought as a birthday present for me and did it earlier this year in one of their Group N Hyundais. Was great - the instructor was willing to teach rather than just let you drive round. Also had a reasonable time in the car rather than long classroom sessions.
Loads here - but I have not tried any of these - http://www.yougodo.com/en/Search.aspx?ks=rally
I had one of my best ever day's driving here, and others who have been more recently have also given good reports:

But I have to say I am commenting from the perspective of someone who has not done any real rallying.
