BUT!

I feel that from reading through the many threads on here that I would end up getting bogged down in the detail rather than concentrating on the actual driving.

At the moment I am constantly trying to improve my driving by picking up various hints on here and I would like to think it has helped me out although obviously that could mean applying them wrongly.

What is the best way to learn? Is there anybody in N.Lincs who could show me what it is all about?

I know a gentleman who lives just t'other side of the Humber bridge from you. He's an IAM Observer and a driving enthusiast (it doesn't always follow wink ) so I'm going to recommend him. PM me for details, and if you can't find somebody nearer your own immediate area, he may be willing to help. We can but ask.

Best wishes all,
Dave.

Ah, it's nice to see something happening here.

I've contacted my friend in Hull, and I await his reply.

Let's see what happens, but I'm sure useful things can be done.

Best wishes all,
Dave.

Well I've just had my first advanced 'experience' with Adam and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it biggrin

Many thanks have to be said for not ripping my driving to bits and also for showing me how it is done.

Now if only I could master not braking and changine gear at the same time..

Very much so, I was afraid I would be either completely out of my depth or put off by a 'stuffy, flat cap wearer'!

Neither of which was the case thankfully smile

To anybody hesitant about AD I would realy recommend seeing what it is all about, it certainly isn't as scary as you may think.

Are you planning on investing in the "skill for life" package?

I'm so glad I did when I bought my Golf R32. It slowed me down when necessary and sped me up when safe... wink

Is Basingstoke - about 25 miles away - local enough?

Best wishes all,
Dave.

Cheers for the quick replies. Will contact Chris as I am contemplating buying the "skill for life" but am still unsure what route to take into advanced driving. Basingstoke is fine mate, I shall send you email tonight when i get home smile.

Many thanks

IAM Bedford Telephone: Arthur Cushway on 07747 695426

- The RideDrive I put up 2 messages ago is the Primary "pointer" you need.
