Training Courses
Discussion
Hi
Total newbie here, am after some help on advanced driving lessons, basically I passed my test a year and half ago and am just so passionate about driving and i really want to take it further, I have decided when I have had my licence three years i would like to become a driving instructor, and will look into the courses that are availabe, but I have been wanting to do some advanced driving training before then also if i can, do you know if this at all a cross over in terms of content of the training? I basically dont want to do the advanced driving course and enrol do the driving instructors course and discover they are the same thing? And any advice in terms of progression within this career and other courses are also most welcome.
Thanks

I can recommend the IAM route - there will be common themes with any advanced driving courses, whether they be instuctors for the standard DVLA test or higher. What is so bad about wanting to be a better driver? It's not like a trade or professional qualification where you can bolt on as many modules as you like. Different instructors will give you different perspectives on how to teach better driving.
I'm sure that there will be other PHers with more experience of the different options than me who will give you advice, but I admire your enthusiasm
Welcome to Pistonheads by the way. I hope that you don't get too frustrated with the multitude of idiots (and future statistics) on the roads!
