Has there or will there ever be a competition or similar for a Pistonhead member to win the chance to go for an advanced driving day with one of our resident pursuit trained police officers. Whether that be spending the day with them as an observer or just a few hours ironing out bad habits & such like?

perhaps we could have a competition where the winner gets a free BMW too
That can be arranged, but only for a weekend. Done that 100's of times. I leave a car in a shopping center with a boat load of entry cards & BMW pens and a deposit box. They beg, they demand, they don't fully complete the entry card but those that tick all the right boxes win! I've had to phone 20 odd people on many occasions until I found a winner.R_U_LOCAL said:
I'd give up my time to be the "prize" if someone wants to organise the competition. It wouldn't be during duty time I'm afraid, but I'd be happy to give up a day off.
Top man, I could arrange for a discounted service of sorts for your BMW to try and make it more worth your while.MK4 Slowride said:

If you want a drive with Reg, why not drop him a note and see if you can sort a time, if he's willing. Most enthusiasts I know are only too willing to go out for a drive at the merest semblance of an excuse...and you could hold the camera for him. How are the vids coming along?

I'm off down to South Wales on Tuesday with the video kit and I've three days to do a bit of filming, so after editing, etc, they should be ready for posting towards the end of next week.
On what roads will you be filming?R_U_LOCAL said:

I'm heading for in between Cardiff and Bridgend.
Thats my area roughly, Llantwit Major, Vale of Glamorgan. The b2465 between Llantwit and St. Brides Major can be enjoyable, NSL most of the way, except when you pass through the 30 limit in Wick.
If you need any info on roads, I'll try my hardest to help.
I'm confident the competition I have planned will be a peach. Not only for the prize, courtesy of R U LOCAL but for the manner in which it is presented and awarded. I will no doubt need the mods assistance in this, so if your reading mods I will be in touch make sure it's good with you. Although I will need to know how do I go about this, is it in the FAQ's? Reason being I'm not the most computer literate, I devote the brain power more towards the vehicles powered by engines.
