Advanced driving instruction such as cadence in the S-East
Discussion
Hello all,
The birthday is coming up and as Im buying myself a Tuscan the parents have opted to get me some advanced driving tuition so i dont wrap myself around a tree etc. etc.
I had a look at the cadence website and that seems to be exactly the sort of thing I was looking at, however its a bit of a trek for me to get to where they are based. Does anybody know of a school with a good reputation in road and track tuition in the south east, Im in Hampshire.
I've googled and had a rummage around here but couldnt see anything.
Thanks
Dave

Ridedrive has national coverage, so should be able to find a suitable instructor in your vicinity. Their instructors aren't full-time coaches like Cadence, but are nonethless Class 1 police pursuit qualified so highly knowledgeable
If you want a road and track combined course, click on the 'high performace' section: www.ridedrive.co.uk/do-driving.htm

I'd be looking for a coach who is a trained instructor - a police instructor is ideal, but a class 1 without instructor training may not be.
I can recommend Bernard Aubrey, long time 'Porsche Driving Consultant' post police and HPC, now I think on his own. Give Bernard Aubrey a tinkle on 01798 875211.

Hi Dave,
ClubDriving have a number of 'Mentors' in your part of the country. They provide club members with free in-car coaching.
Mark.

Mark himself would be a very suitable coach if he was in your part of the country - but he isn't. (Mark's business is Bespoke Driver Training - he sells some excellent DVD's).
The Club Driving mentors are probably on average more suitable than IAM and Rospa Observers. Another similar option is to attend Advanced Driving UK drive days. But if you are time poor and your parents are offering to pay I would still recommend a professional coach. I recommended Bernard because he has a great reputation, I thought he was good when I went out with him, and he is in your part of the country.
