OT: question for Bibs
Discussion
Prob should ask this on SP&L, but don't want to get into an inflammatory debate. So the advanced driving content is that I had cause to employ my tailgating strategy this evening (pretty simple, when tail-gated slow down to give more stopping space to manage the tail-gater better). Trouble is that is was a police tranny with one headlight out and one set very high and dazzling (could even have been on main beam).
I would quite like to tell someone on both counts, but don't want to complain specifically. Can any of the helpful Bibs here point me in the right direction?

Police vehicles are supposed to be checked at the start of every tour of duty. That means that either the driver failed to check it, or that it went after they started driving the car. Either way, it'll be picked up within the next couple of days, so I wouldn't worry about it.
As for the tailgating, you can either complain, or not. If it bothered you that much, then ring up and complain, and if you're not really that bothered, then let it drop.

I watched an Astra pull out of the nick with only one brake light working last week. So much for pre-checks. But then what was I going to do? Stop him and make sure it wasn't stolen?
To be honest the chances of actually receiving any sort of ticket as a MOP for having one brakelight out are relatively remote so I would probably just let it go, and continue to revel in the smug glory of driving a 100% perfect car all the time....
