ZOMG, good news fellow pistonheaders!
i drove a car today, first time in my life...it's much more exilerating than gran turismo (even though my dad won't let me go over 20mph) ((i'm assuming he didn't want his $40,000 company car damaged via lightpost))
this is what i drove...www.caranddriver.com/roadtests/9139/ford-five-hundred-limited-awd.html
GETTING ON to why i posted in the advanced drivers forum instead of general gassing...
i was actualy able to use some of the tecniques that i read of in here, mainly the ones regarding power sliding...
i hit a puddle while turning at like 24 mph and i slid, i was able to control the slide perfectly (NO jostle) by turning into it and powering out (i wasn't sure what the torque distribution of the 4WD system was so i just did both ) ((and it was a SMALL amount of power)) but my dad still flipped out on me like i obviously had no idea what i was doing
THANKS to everyone in the AD forum

Err, be patient?
And I'm not sure how you got a car to go sideways at 24mph in a puddle unless you were gunning it or turning way too sharply!
Keep going, it's great that you're enthusiastic, but remember that no amount of time in GT4 can prepare you for driving on real roads. Perhaps it's better to focus on the basics before overtaking yourself and trying to be "advanced?"

So as not to disappoint -
1) Run before you can walk
2) Inexperienced drivers are more likely to end up dead
3) Do not ever say "watch this" when driving
4) 24mph and it slid??? Check the tyres...or go easy on the "gas"!
Glad you enjoyed driving it, but drive safe - it's not all about big fast (horribly slow!) powerslides, it's about being safe, smooth and making good progress, whilst remembering it's better o arrive late than not at all.

Wise words!
and yes i know that GT4 isn't going to prepare me for driving on the streets...but it was just so instinctive and i was suprised it worked!
i was taking the turn a little sharp and it wasn't that much of a slide tbh
