HPC Young Driver's Day 2023
Discussion
The High Performance Course is running a Young Drivers’ Day on 29th July 2023.
This is open to those aged 26 years or less and hold a full driver’s licence.
For more details on this popular event, please visit http://www.high-performance-course.com/ydd.htm.
This is a well established event which is universally enjoyed and seen as a great introduction to advanced driving.
Focusing on Cornering and Overtaking - two skills which are under-taught and which can increase your enjoyment of driving and safety on the road.
Run by the High Performance Course Managers who are highly skilled coaches it is a full 8 hours including food for a very reasonable sum of £40 (HPC subsidises the day).
Based at the Holt Hotel, near Steeple Aston, Oxfordshire.
Spaces still available.
Any questions - do ask, I have helped run the course a number of times, though unfortunately can't make it this year, but it is an excellent day.

Just been having a chat with those who run this - and a decision has been made to extend the upper age on this to under 30 rather than under 26 - the logic being that it covers more people who may have reached 25 and been able to afford slightly nicer cars etc.
So if you have wanted to do this and perhaps missed out in the last couple of years, but are still in your 20s - then maybe this is the year to have a go.

I've been trying to get my son on one of these days for years, but each year there was something preventing him from going. Not this year though, he finally is able to come
Great news - book him in if you haven’t so far, it is a genuinely excellent day from Bacon rolls on arrival to the discussions and driving!akirk said:

my eldest did it a few years ago in a Pug 106 (twice i think) so don't be put off by "nice cars" its the driver not the caras an HPC member (still) i thought it was better he be taught by others than me - saves lots of long silences in the car when its gone tits up
its a good day out and things he learnt are still with him today
my apologies - didn't mean it in that sense - that you need a 'nicer car' - lots turn up in small cheap to insure cars...
it was more a reflection on why the organisers have decided to raise the age limit - a reflection that it is often hitting 25 / being able to insure faster cars / etc. that sparks an interest in how to drive...
come along with whatever you have (you will need a car!)
