I think for my birthday, I want to treat myself to some driving tuition on the track. Can anyone recommend me any decent ones available preferebly in the North West region?

You can do the Track Academy through MSV at Oulton Park, it’s £399 on top of the track day price and is a full day in your own car. Not too sure what it’s like but Oulton is a great track if you haven’t done it before.

Alternatively you could book the track day and find an instructor to join you for the day which may work out cheaper.

Book a track day at Oulton with opentrack and book a session with their free instructor. If you want more than that you’ll have to pay for a proper course like above.

Thanks for the suggestion everyone. I currently don't have a car that I can take to the track yet, but if it's cheaper to take my own car for the trackdays for tuition, then I'll have to wait until I get my second car.

You can hire a track car to do the track day with if you don't have a suitable track car. There are many who hire cars often including the track day organiser. What's your current car? It might be suitable for a track day. Then you can hire an instructor from the organiser or one of the many independent instructors. Ask for recommendations in the track day forum. I've used quite a few, Rich Fores and Ryan Hooker both come to mind as excellent.

I had a look and I can hire one, but for the money I don't think it's the best thing right now. My current car is my first car which is an mk1 Aygo hahaha. So I think it'll be better to wait until I get my second car hopefully next year which is more suited for track. then again, I've watched people track in Aygos and C1's.

If you choose some novice sessions you'd be ok in the aygo. The C1s even have a race series.

The most daft thing I've encountered was a test session including Revolutions and 2CVs. I was in a Revolution and not particularly pleased with the arrangement!

If you're a fairly new driver please do consider starting with advanced road driving tuition

Depends on what the OP wants to achieve as they are very different (obviously!)
