Which Method Do You Use For Reverse Bay Parking?
Discussion
Only been driving 3 months or so but have got lots of experience as I drive a couple of hours each day.
I did initially start reverse bay parking using the 45degree method ( stop by the space, turn 45 degrees left or right then reverse in )
However I find it's much safer to use the 90degree method ( stop by the space, indicate left/right, move forwards a bit then full lock left or right into the space in reverse )
I say this because it takes up less space and doesn't involve going on the other side which could block oncoming cars

I was taught in 2007 to use 90deg...turning the wheel once my head is in line with the line after the bay I want to reverse into.
Ah right. I tend to go two bays forward then reverse backwards with a full lock left or right ( Obviously adjusting the steering accordingly with how close I am to either of the two cars I am parking between )The only problem with that is, the car behind might start nudging forward and blocking the space until they see you are reversing.

When I was a yoof I was a car cleaner. In those days we used a hot pressure washer that blasted off new car wax with an emulsion of diesel. To be safe () we used to do a burn out before we left the bay. I was over exuberant with a Datsun 280ZX one day & accidentally parked it between two other stock vehicles pretty much like the above video. I was a bit more careful next time.

Op, just keep backing in, another couple of months and you'll realise it's no big deal and you don't need reference points and someone or other's technique. People who live in terrace houses tend to be pretty good at parallel parking because they get plenty practice. Just don't be tempted to join the 'shopping in the boot' excuse brigade
