A muntjac? Pretty common. Lucky it was not an Elk. In North Sweden, you would have the elk-spotter in the passenger seat. With long legs and a heavy torso, they could take the A-pillars and your head out. Volvos have a thermal imaging option to detect them early, also available for kangaroos and wallabies.

Loads round my way. You really need to keep an eye out but they can jump out of nowhere if you're unlucky.
Hope the repair isn't too expensive.
I guess the deer was a goner?
Deer disappeared into the field it was heading for.Hope the repair isn't too expensive.
I guess the deer was a goner?
Must have been hurt though !
Masking tape over the hole and take the fuse out for the washer - Jobs a goodun for now .
Gives the car a bit of character.
Might take it down the BMW repair shop for a "laugh".

Once came across a transit that had hit a cow that was loose.
Cow & van both very deceased !!!!
Deer in the Western Highlands are lethal...dusk and after dark..40mph max and keep your eyes peeled.
We had quite a few near misses, and also one hit in early October around Ullapool area.
I was following a MK2 MR-2 (red devil on here) and saw the stag spring out. Just caught the off-side, stuffed the pop-up headlight and other minor damage...very good brakes and a lot of luck as the stag leaped over the bonnet.
Those creatures are the antithesis of Tufty.

ooft - What did you hit an Elephant ???
you got off lightly (in terms of damage) - I hit an 8 year old stag 20 odd years ago in a passat, swerved and it clipped the front corner which spun it round and did nearside doors too, in addition to a new front/nearside. Better than through the windshield I guess...Gassing Station | Advanced Driving | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
