Hi everyone,
I'm sure I'm the driver that everyone hates, but remember I'm asking for information to get better and understand.
I have recently done my first long motorway drive. Everything went well and we all arrived safley. For the .let I was driving in the right hand lane (it was fairly busy) I was doing 70mph and was just cruising away.
On a few occasions I had drivers behind me flashing there lights. I moved into the middle lane at this point and they flew past me.
My question is am I ok to sit in the right hand lane and a steady 70mph and not move for flashing drivers.
My thought process to being in the right hand lane was I am doing 70mph so nobody is going to(or should be) overtaking me.
Thanks for any advise

No. Left hand lane is the driving lane, other lanes are for overtaking (there are exceptions, but let’s get the basics correct first). Return to the most feasible left-most lane after overtaking. Let police do the policing.
I have given you the benefit of doubt of not being a troll. Get motorway driving lessons to avoid being a nuisance or a danger.

A sensible idea, but why am I seeing a Rick Astley video?Fiesta21 said:

I presume you still have your copy of the Highway Code? Rule 264 is the one you're after.I'm sure I'm the driver that everyone hates, but remember I'm asking for information to get better and understand.

If you can't find it, then... https://www.gov.uk/guidance/the-highway-code/motor...
If the OP is not a troll, then the answer to this is simple: I follow your logic, but abiding by one law or piece of HC guidance (the speed limit) doesn't give you the right to break another (stay left unless otherwise overtaking). If you want to stick to the law and the Highway Code, then don't drive over 70mph and stay left unless otherwise overtaking.
