Question About Pass Plus Certificate
Discussion
Hi guys. I have a quick question.
I passed my Pass Plus in August of 2013. My instructor said he would send off for my certificate based on this, and I would receive it through the post within 28 days. However I never received it. I was wondering perhaps has the whole Pass Plus certificate thing just gone online, so that passing Pass Plus just adds a digital mark next to your licence? Does anyone have any insight. Would it be worth getting back in contact with my instructor.

There's no test for pass plus.
Does that matter? There's no test for BikeSafe, but some insurers offer a discount on motorcycle insurance if you've done a BikeSafe day. Presumably it's a sign of the right attitude and some improvement in skill beyond L-test level.
William, I've not done Pass Plus but thought the issue was that Pass Plus' syllabus is quite rudimentary and nothing like 'advanced'. I see you're an ADI, so you'd know better than me.
In contrast, BikeSafe is positioned as a taster to encourage people onto advanced riding. It's a shame Pass Plus doesn't do that.

Surely pass plus, bike safe and IAM are all 'advanced' because they are all go beyond what's required for the DSA test. It's a relative term, not a particular set of techniques. There's no test for BikeSafe, but some insurers offer a discount on motorcycle insurance if you've done a BikeSafe day. Insurers worked out that those who passed PP were no less involved in incidents so stopped giving discounts generallyPassing an advanced test will give discounts in many cases
