Hello,

Quick introduction; I'm 20 years old and have recently purchased myself a GT86 - I love driving around in the thing but I'm more than happy to hold my hands up and say that I don't have the technical knowledge to either; 1) control the car if sudden evasive maneuvers were needed and 2) control the car properly on a track.

I'm a sensible driver and I'm fine driving around on a day to day basis (currently do about 25,000 miles p/a). I have recently started reading this section which has sparked my interest into advanced driving and improving my driving abilities. This has led to the purchase of Reg Local's book on Advanced and Performance driving which I am currently enjoying.

What groups are available local to the East Midlands (Particularly Leics/Northants)?
What suggestions do already experienced members have for how I should progress?

I have found a course on skid control very local to me at Rockingham Motor Speedway called R3Rockingham - have any of us already taken part in this?

My partner is quite a nervous driver so I'm planning on getting her some courses too.

Thanks all in advance for any contributions.

Start at https://www.roadar.org.uk/groups/east-midlands/ind... and https://www.iamroadsmart.com/local-groups

And- assuming she knows nothing about it yet, which might be wrong - I'd leave getting sessions for your partner until she understands how your driving has improved. Nothing worse than someone else thinking your driving needs improving and imposing something.
