The missus needs to get back "on the road" - she has a license but hasn't driven for 15 yrs or so.

Obviously she's going to take some refresher lessons, but wants an opportunity to re-familiarise herself with driving away from the public road first.

Probably makes sense for her to be supervised by someone who's not me! We're in Leamington Spa - Youngdriver offer sessions at Stoneleigh and Gaydon, but these are aimed at U17s, not sure if they make sense for adult drivers. We're also not a million miles from drivingambition at Brackley.

Any suggestions in our area? And tips on finding a suitable instructor will also be appreciated. (Won't be doing advanced for the time being!)

Cheers

If she absolutely needs a off road session then driving ambition at Brackley come highly recommended (tell Mark Neil at NearWay sent you). However, she doesn't need an off road session, any half decent ADI will be able to find a quiet road to start her off, and then go at her pace. Driving Instructors start complete novices that have never sat in the drivers seat of the car before off on public roads, she will be fine.

I'm an ADI but just out of your area.

As William said....find an ADI it's nice to get "mature" drivers as it gives ADI different challenge and a change from 17 year olds!...sadly i am on south coast!
