Difference between IAM and RoSPA

I'm interested to know what the differences are between what the IAM and RoSPA are teaching these days. I know that RoSPA use Roadcraft (presumably the 2013 edition) and that IAM use there own book.
So what are the important differences?
Important Differences? So what are the important differences?
The test syllabus: none (both are based on the police drivers' System of Car Control (IPSGA))
The test scoring: RoSPA: Fail (very few); Bronze (approx 20%); Silver(approx 60%); Gold (approx 20%)
IAM: Fail (approx 15%); Pass 85%, of which ?% are awarded F1RST
Subsequent years: RoSPA: compulsory re-test every three years.
IAM: No compulsory re-test, but option to do IAM Masters. (Don't even think of doing the optional re-test. If you fail you're unceremoniously booted out of the club! )
Go with whichever local group appeals the most. You can always do the other one when you've passed the first one. Just like many of the masochists on here.

Really?
Harsh.
Yes, really. Harsh.
When I queried this with Head Office representatives I was told... "That's what the membership wanted". Er, no, I don't think so.
In my, obviously incorrect, opinion, I think it's just a ploy to shut up the very small, noisy, group of members who keep agitating for re-testing of the membership. It may even be a cynical ploy to exclude from membership all those who have kept banging on about this topic on the now defunct IAM members' forum. Simply a case of... put your money where your mouth is, fail the re-test, and off you go.
