Another new video - Brake/Gear Overlap (BGOL)
Discussion
I've had a busy weekend so far! Here's my second video in 24 hours - how to avoid brake/gear overlap (BGOL):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92zNVC_qKBE
Again mods, no ads, so no need to delete.
In fact, monetising these videos is pretty pointless to be honest, so from the next video onwards, I'll start a new "Reg Local videos" thread so they'll all be in one place.

Thanks again for your efforts Reg.
I'm very guilty of BGOL so will actively try and introduce this into my driving.
Re the clutch being down towards the end of the braking phase, what's the cut off before it would be considered coasting?
It isn't coasting if you just press the clutch to prevent judder as the speed comes down. If you're pressing the clutch as you start to brake, or whilst you're still travelling at a higher speed, that could be considered as coasting, but if you leave the clutch engaged until the engine revs get close to tickover speed and then press the clutch to prevent judder (prior to coming off the brakes & changing gear), then it's not coasting - just mechanically sympathetic application of system.I'm very guilty of BGOL so will actively try and introduce this into my driving.

So what's wrong with H&T?
Did I say there was anything wrong with it?Great post Reg, I really enjoyed that video as for years now I've suspected I was overlapping braking with gear changes but the drive felt smooth enough for me not to pay it any more attention.
Turns out I wasn't overlapping much if at all given what you presented in the video, I guess I had a good tutor.
I'm going to post a new thread with a few questions on reversing.
I'd be delighted to see you answer them, but please feel free to start a new thread with your thoughts/advice.
Thanks
