If I'm reading correctly, he wants to cross the white lines in heavy traffic to make the right turn.

Not sure of the legalities but if it's safe (as you should ask yourself regardless of road signing, etc.) then I would go for it. Kind of depressing to think people rely so heavily on painted lines rather than their own understanding of the situation...

Obviously not; seeing as this photo needs two threads wink (to go with 100s of previous ones).. or to the person I met yesterday who decided overtaking two cyclists on a down hill left hand bend was a good idea. Managed to miss him though; no thanks to his driving ability (or knowledge of the HWC).
