Perfectly excusable, he was just trying to rid us of the horror that is the front of a cayenne
Good on that man, he's performing a public service. I heard that there's hunting packs of these vigilantes roaming the country. Your days are numbered OP...
If I ever win the Euromillions I'm going to spend most of it beautifying the world, by carrying out a large series of crash tests between Cayennes and PT cruisers.Good on that man, he's performing a public service. What about your own Toyota Carina?
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder Besides, that is a family heirlooom, bought at 6 months old by the in-laws, and given to us when someone punted my wife across a junction at a Give Way and did a runner, leaving her unconscious in a wrecked car in the middle of the road.
We decided to keep it until something major went wrong that cost over £100 to fix. 9 years later, we're still waiting. It's is also handy for leaving in town overnight when you go out for a beer.

Somehow he failed to see a bloody great Black Cayenne in broad daylight. Moved into lane 2 of the A3 Just before the Hindhead tunnel for no reason without indicating as I was half way past him. How I managed to avoid him I have no idea.
Ironically, depsite claiming to have "no idea", you have nailed the answer in the topic title. If you were half way past him, you were square in his blind spot. Whilst he should have done a shoulder check, you simply can't rely on the "average" driver realising you can lose something as big a 4x4 completely in the mirror's blind spot. Also, he probably didn't know you were coming up as he'd not checked his mirrors for the last 30 minutes - only as he started to move, at which point there was nothing to see in them.
Always nasty in a car; as a motorbike rider you have to be VERY aware of this - go past or hang well back - never dither, and NEVER hover in the blind spot.

Funnily enough, I thought this the other day, when moving to overtake, I noticed that the discovery I saw in my mirror a second previously had disappeared, and was in fact hovering in my blindspot. Obviously I did see it because I do check for these things! If you were half way past him, you were square in his blind spot. Sadly the only safe solution is to pass at a minimum of double their speed, to minimise the time spent in said blindspot!
